BC continued its winning way’s Thursday night with a 2-0 win against Fairfield Union. BC had its second consecutive shut out with the help of the defense and Christin Anson in goal. Anson had 9 saves for BC and scoring for BC was Sadie Evans and Brook Smith.

The Bulldogs came out tonight against Athens and walked away with a hard fought victory 1-0. The Bulldogs and Athens both played a very physical game tonight, but Arielle Swingle was able to put one in the back of net early in the 1st half off an assist from Monique Devol. The Bulldogs defense and goalie Christin Anson were able to keep Athens to only 3 shots on goal the whole night. Anson came away with 3 saves and the Bulldogs move on to face Fairfield Union on Thursday night at 7pm. The Bulldogs move to 7-3 on the season.

Bloom Carroll came out with something to prove after a tough loss on Saturday and was able to beat Fisher Catholic 3-1. Leading the charge for the Bulldogs was Sadie Evans with 2 goals and Brooke Smith with 2 goals and 2 assist. The game was very well played by both teams, but Bloom Carroll was able to pull away at the end. In goal for Bloom Carroll was Christin Anson who played a great game as she ended the night with 16 saves.

September 8, 2007
Bloom Carroll 2 Amanda Clearcreek 4
The Bulldogs had a great opportunity Saturday to play at Crew Stadium versus Amanda Clearcreek. The Bulldogs came out fast with many scoring chances, but they failed to put on in the net by half. BC and the Aces came out in the second half with even more energy when BC was able to score (2 minutes in) off a corner kick when Katy Wisby finished the header into the back of net. About 5 minutes later Amanda was able to answer the goal and the games tied. Amanda put on the pressure after that and never looked back. BC scored later off a shot by Monique Devol. The final score ended at 4-2 with a great effort by both teams. BC suffered a loss, but came away with a great experience at Crew Stadium. Christin Anson was in the goal for BC and she made 13 saves on the day. The loss puts BC at 5-2 overall and 1-2 in league play. BC will host Fisher Catholic on Tuesday at 7:15.

Bloom Carroll came out Tuesday night against Division I foe Lancaster with something to prove. Bloom Carroll and Lancaster had a hard fought match with Bloom Carroll prevailing with a 4-2 final score. Both teams played really hard, but the Bulldogs were able to edge out Lancaster in the end. Lancaster started off the scoring in the first 12 minutes, but Bloom Carroll was able to battle back and take 3-1 lead at halftime. Lancaster came out in the second half and forced the Bulldogs back on their heels as Lancaster pulled it to 3-2 with 25 minutes left in the game. Bloom Carroll was able to add another goal with 8 minutes left in the game with a direct kick and that was the back breaker for the gales. Bloom Carroll had a total team effort tonight to go to 3-0 on the season. Scoring for the Bulldogs was Brooke Smith, Monique Devol, Sadie Evans, and Hillary Adams. In goal for the Bulldogs was Christin Anson who recorded 17 saves with the help of a great defensive effort.

BC continued it’s strong start this year by defeating Fairfield Christian 8-1 Saturday night.  Scoring for the Bulldogs was Monique Devol (3), Brooke Smith, Sadie Evans, Arielle Swingle, Natalie Shirk, and Sarah Borthwick.  In goal for the Bulldogs was Christin Anson with 1 save and Megan Clark with 1 save.  The Bulldogs look to continue their success on Tuesday when they host Lancaster at 7pm.

Bloom Carroll started the 2007 campaign off with a great 6-0 win over Franklin Heights. BC started off a little slow going up 2-0 at halftime, but came out quick in the second half with 4 fast goals. Leading the charge for the Bulldogs was Brooke Smith with 3 goals, Sadie Evans with 2 goals, and Arielle Swingle with 1 goal. In the goal for BC was Christin Anson and Megan Clark who combined for the 2 save shutout. The Bulldogs were able to get off 28 shots on goal during the game with Rodriguez from Franklin Heights making 22 saves.

Bloom Carroll came out ready to play against a very good Circleville team on Thursday night. Circleville went on top 1-0 with about 7 minutes left in the first half. Bloom fought back and scored about 20 minutes into the second half on a goal by Brooke Smith. Circleville and Bloom played hard the last 20 minutes, but neither team could put one in the back of the net. Christin Anson had 7 saves in goal for the Bulldogs. This was BC's first tie of the year and it leaves them with a 3-3-1 record in the MSL. Great job ladies!

Bloom Carroll came out slow tonight, but ended up getting the win 3-0 against a very feisty FCA team. Leading Bloom Carroll was Monique Devol with 2 goals and Brooke Smith with 1 goal. Assisting the scorers was Arielle Swingle and Brooke Smith. Bloom defense held FCA to 3 shots total and Christin Anson held the shutout with 2 saves. Bloom plays again on Thursday at home for Senior Night against league opponent Teay's Valley.

The Lady Bulldogs came out fighting against Grandview Heights, but Grandview proved to be too much to handle. Bloom dropped the game 4-0. Grandview moves to 10-1-1 and Bloom moves to 4-9. Bloom looks to get back on the winning side tonight against Fairfield Christian Academy.

Bloom came out Saturday afternoon and continued it's winning way's against a very feisty Heath team. Bloom took a 2-0 lead into halftime off goals by Brooke Smith and Katie Wisby. Bloom had plenty of opportunities in the second half, but failed to put any more points on the board. Heath kept fighting and got on the board with 48 seconds left in the game. Monique Devol had an assist for BC and Christin Anson had 4 saves in the game. Bloom hopes to continue their winning streak to 3 when they host Grandview on Monday.

Bloom Carroll came out quick on Thursday night to defeat Hamilton Township 5-0 for BC's 3rd MSL win this season. Leading Bloom Carroll charge was Brooke Smith with 3 goals including a PK and a direct kick goal as well. Sarah Gardner and Monique Devol each had one goal for BC who was up 4-0 at halftime. Also leading was Arielle Swingle and Hillary Adams each with an assist. Leading the Bulldogs in goal for her 2nd shutout of the year was Christine Anson who had 4 saves. Bloom had a total team effort to come out with the win and move to a 3-2 record in the Mid-State League and a 3-8 record overall.

Bloom Girls Soccer had another tough defeat last night against a very good Greenview team 4-1. Bloom came out fighting and took an early lead twenty minutes in on a goal by Monique Devol with Brooke Smith having the assist. Bloom kept fighting, but they could not overcome a talented Greenview squad. Christin Anson had 10 saves in the game for BC. The Lady Bulldogs travel to Hamilton Township on Thursday night for another league game.

Bloom Carroll had a tough defeat last night to Athens 3-2. Bloom Carroll fought hard on a rain soaked field with Brooke Smith and Monique Devol leading the Bulldogs in scoring. Arielle Swimgle and Haley Evans had the assist on the BC goals. Christin Anson had 13 saves for BC in the goal. BC returns home to face Logan Elm on Thursday night at 7pm.

The lady Bulldogs Soccer Team took on Fairfield Union on Thursday night and walked away with a hard fought MSL victory 3-2. Monique Devol started off the scoring for the Bulldogs 17 minutes into the game on a great assist by Arielle Swingle. Hilary Adams's followed 7 minutes later with a good shot from the corner to make it 2-0. Fairfield Union quickly fought back and scored to make it 2-1 at halftime. The bulldogs came out in the second half just like they started the game. Brooke Smith scored a great goal off a direct kick assist by Haley Evans. Bloom Carroll and Fairfield Union fought to end with Fairfield Union Scoring in the final 2 minutes, but it was not enough to defeat the Bulldogs. Christin Anson had 11 saves to preserve the victory. Bloom Carroll goals: Hilary Adams, Brooke Smith, Monique Devol. Assists: Brooke Smith, Haley Evans, and Arielle Swingle.

The Lady Bulldogs had another tough defeat Thursday night against Fisher Catholic. BC took the lead 1-0 in the second half with a goal by Brooke Smith. Fisher Catholic quickly tied it five minutes later with a goal. Fisher took the lead 2-1 with only 10 minutes left in the game and BC was unable to answer late in the game. Brooke Smith led BC with one goal and Christin Anson completed the game with 16 saves. BC will be back in action next Thursday night (8/31) for their first Mid-State league game against Amanda Clearcreek.

Congratulations to...

Bloom Carroll High School would like to congratulate the BCYA U12 Bulldogs team for winning CESA league in Columbus with an undefeated season!

The Bulldogs took on Columbus School for Girls on Saturday in the first tournament game and walked away with a 2-0 win. Scoring for the Bulldogs was Catherine Fisher (2 goals) and assist each by Maddie Jenson and Geena Casey.

The Championship game followed with a tough game against a very good Bexley team. The Bulldogs were able to take the game with a 2-1 victory. Catherine Fisher scored the first goal off an assist by Maddie Jenson and Shelby Elswick. The game winning goal came off of Maddie Jenson's foot with a 1-time left footed shot directly off a corner kick cross from Catherine Fisher.

Special mention goes out to Maggie Loeffler who played a great game at the sweeper position.

Also a special mention out to Katie Sylvia who preserved the championship with some great saves in goal.

Congrats to the U12 Bulldog Champions!
